Aiteall
"...offering audiences a space for connection, for the senses to open, and for breath in suspended moments where time seems to stretch out and slow."
A contemplative duet by musician Natalia Beylis and aerial artist Robin Roche Aiteall incorporates breath-taking acrobatics and aerial dance in a performance that explores rich musical and movement pathways offered by small openings.
Based on the Irish term, Aiteall, this work has developed from explorations of the sensorily rich moments we experience in the openings between rain showers. These are moments when we find ourselves reconnecting to the land and can immerse in the colours, sounds and smells of the earth, heightened after rainfall.
An aerial based duet for Culture Night, Aiteall illuminates the magic of these moments, like the sudden burst of birdsong, offering audiences a space for connection, for the senses to open, and for breath in suspended moments where time seems to stretch out and slow.
This unique performance brings together two highly skilled performers from the Leitrim/Sligo locality in a celebration of the arts and our shared connections to local land and weather.
The mix of circus and contemporary art in Aiteall give this unique site-specific performance a wide appeal to all audiences and ages.
