"Savage Shore" is part of a series of paintings I created on-site at various locations around Streedagh  for the Spanish Armada exhibition "Tide and Tides".  In the paintings I imagine how the landscape that we know and love must have seemed a strange savage place to those who survived the Armada shipwrecks. I sense the landscape holds a memory of a past we rarely think about and looking at it through the Lense of the past it reminds us of our transience and fragility.
